Stewardship 2023 Theme: WORTHY

In the month of November, we'll consider God's worthiness of our worship as we gratefully give ourselves in offering to the One who holds the future and is making all things new through Christ.

This year’s stewardship theme is about God being WORTHY of our worshipful praise and generous giving. The word “worship” has its origins in the Old English word “Worth-ship.” From ancient times this worship has included the bringing of an offering in the form of a tithe (portion) of all God has blessed us with. Psalm 96:8 captures the practical connection between God’s worthiness and our offering: “Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his courts.”

Our annual Stewardship campaign features the opportunity for each of us to consider anew the offerings we will bring to our deserving God. When we thoughtfully and prayerfully fill out our pledge cards and bring them to the church sanctuary on Pledge Sunday (Nov. 12), we'll be taking part in the grand drama of worship that extols God’s true worthiness.

We'll be inspired by a contemporary hymn that features a title in the form of a question.  The title is "Is He Worthy?"  The question is answered with a resounding "He is!"  This year, as we consider our offering to the Lord, let’s join our voices with the heavenly chorus that affirms that Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, is worthy of all glory and honor and praise!

Stewardship 2022

Choose This Day!

The 2022 stewardship theme was about MAKING CONNECTIONS on the journey of faith. Connecting deeper into our covenant relationship with God. Committing to continue travelling along the journey of faith with fellow pilgrims in the North Creek congregation.

Picture being in the main hall of a railway station or international airport. You look up at the reader board and see an amazing array of options. And then it dawns on you – you won’t get to your desired destination by remaining in the station weighing your options. You need to make a connection with a specific train or plane to begin moving forward.  God’s people have always been presented the opportunity to make a connection with God amid a vast array of options, a decision to continue journeying forth with God as God’s covenant people. One such moment happens at the end of the Old Testament book of Joshua.

“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”  Joshua 24:15

Joshua spoke these inspiring words to God’s people at a crucial moment in their journey with God, and the people responded by renewing the covenant relationship. Now that God had led them to the promised land, they committed to continuing to walk with the Lord in worship & service. Recalling God’s great faithfulness, we embrace our covenant commitment at this moment in the life of our congregation, choosing to serve the Lord by offering our time, talent, & treasure. In this stewardship season and beyond, may we respond to Joshua’s call to stand up and joyfully say: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!”
